美丽女子彻子（仲里依纱 饰）曾经拥有一段刻骨铭心的感情经历，亚洲许多年前她和青梅竹马的寺山一树（星野源 饰）结婚，亚洲谁知婚后没有几年，一树便因一场大病撒手人寰。在此之后，彻子并未回到娘家，而是和公公连太郎（鹿贺丈史 饰）相守度日，如是过了七年的时光。在某公司上班的彻子和名叫岩井正春（沟端淳平 饰）的男子正在交往，当对方向她提出求婚的请求时，她却希望无论如何都能和公公生活在一起。一树病重之际，彻子与连太郎曾品尝过路边美味的面包，这似乎也加深了他们之间有如父女一般的羁绊，长久的相处又让他们如同无话不说的好朋友。不知不觉间，彻子和连太郎彼此都成为了对方心中一个重要的存在……
