瑞内是一位和自己12岁儿子住在一起的单身母亲，性把瑞内最大的恐惧就是蜘蛛。母子俩不知道的是，性把他们的一举一动都被偷偷的监视着。一天瑞内的车突然坏了下车检查时被一帮人粗暴的绑架而去。24小时后，瑞内发现自己被带到了实验室里，这里充斥着瑞内最害怕的蜘蛛。绑架瑞内的人告诉她，她特殊的基因可以激发她身体里的变异潜能并将这种异能完全的挥发出来。而唯一能够激发这种潜能的方法就是要忍受自己心里最可怕的恐惧。
