民国时期，非左在新文化的冲击影响下，非左服饰文化进入了一个繁荣、多元化的时代，各式各样的美服争奇斗艳，百花齐放。同时，彩云镇的云衣坊与秦府布庄也正上演着激烈的竞争。而性格活泼、从小在大杂院长大的米酒儿则是为了生活而劫富济贫的“流水侠”。原本并无关系的两个人，因为酒儿为了躲避官府满城通缉，遇见了与自己长相一样的鹿以菱，阴差阳错之下，酒儿以鹿以菱的身份欲混入云衣坊，也为此闹出许多乌龙笑话。而骆胤燃对这个性情大变的“鹿以菱”也一路从怀疑、试探、防备走向欣赏和吸引。同时，曾与酒儿在彩云镇乌龙相识的上海商会之子裴卓（范晓东饰）前来云衣坊和秦府考察，在帮助酒儿躲过骆胤燃试探的同时也给逐渐升温的“燃酒”恋情带来了不小的考验。

From all appearances, the death appears to be a suicide, but the pathologist determines that the man suffered a severe blow to the dead and may in fact have been unconscious when he died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Simon Bright's girlfriend, Laura Sharp, is nowhere to be found, but the death of the aging village Lothario and the attempted murder of another of her friends narrows the list of possible murderers somewhat.
