距今二十年前，黄色以采矿业为主的诺瓦斯科提亚小镇发生一起严重的瓦斯爆炸事故，黄色在矿洞中的工人几乎悉数丧生。事故是由于负责人离开岗位参加情人节舞会，以至于无人监管所引起的。一年后，惨剧中的唯一生还者哈里•沃登（Peter Cowper 饰）对矿上的负责人大开杀戒，他随后被强制送往精神病院。但在离开时哈里留下诅咒，小镇从此不可再举行情人节舞会。二十年后，一群年轻大胆且无所顾忌的年轻人无法忍受枯燥沉闷的情人节，他们决定将久违的舞会带回小镇。而随着舞会一同回来的，还有残酷的血腥杀戮……
