连府时常有女鬼出没的事，福利由来已久。相传二十年前，福利有一个叫于远道的部将跟连府的小姐连锁结成百年之好。于远道战死疆场后，连家小姐连锁闻讯自尽，被人葬于连府后院。从那以后，连府就成了传说中的凶宅。时常出没连府的女鬼害人无数的传闻被侠客王燕客、薛安得知后，两人携手而来，誓要铲除女鬼，为民除害。此时，一个名叫杨于畏的英俊书生，用低价购买了连府久无人住的宅子，成了传说中凶宅的主人。一次，杨于畏在花园读书时，无意捡到一块丝巾。等到夜深人静时分，一个瘦削美丽的姑娘走进了杨于畏的书房。杨于畏并不知道站在面前的美貌女子就是传说中的女鬼连琐，寒暄中还甚感蹊跷。但听说连琐是拿回自己的东西后，杨于畏并没有害怕。因为在美丽面前，杨于畏已经不太在意连锁是人是鬼。
