《刀与花》讲述了高句丽荣留王时期的独裁军事家渊盖蘇文发动政变杀死荣留王，从天其女舞英矢志复仇, 隐藏自己的身分,化身为冷酷的武士, 进入渊盖蘇文的庶子渊忠主导的间谍组织, 一步步的瓦解与渊盖蘇文相关的势力之後,将最後的目标瞄准渊盖蘇文以报父仇,但却在过程中与渊盖蘇文的庶子渊忠陷入爱河, 因而在报仇与爱情的矛盾中纠葛烦恼的武侠谍报爱情剧。

From all appearances, the death appears to be a suicide, but the pathologist determines that the man suffered a severe blow to the dead and may in fact have been unconscious when he died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Simon Bright's girlfriend, Laura Sharp, is nowhere to be found, but the death of the aging village Lothario and the attempted murder of another of her friends narrows the list of possible murderers somewhat. Barnaby is convinced that one of Laura's ex-lovers is responsible but given her rather active life, the question becomes which one?
