陆小凤(刘永饰)忽闻当代两大剑客叶孤城(白彪饰)与西门吹雪(岳华饰)，孤独将于月圆之夜在紫禁城决斗；陆小凤忖度两人均是识英雄重英雄之辈，孤独素末谋面，现 无利益冲突，当无决斗的必要，觉得这事其中必有跷蹊，与花满楼(孙建饰)及司空摘星等好友研究未果后，决定重 金买消息并前往京城调查清楚，不料传闻传出西门吹雪将决战押后一个月的信息……

Their private intensity (& working class origins) contrast with the middle-class, inhibited, stuffy public scenes we see in the Richmond world into which Natalie has moved with her marriage. As the guilt and intensity of the siblings increases we seem to be heading for disaster, a forboding which increases when Natalie's husband Sinclair finds out.
